Mott MacDonald is seeking a civil designer. The successful candidate will function as part of a design team for small to large capital projects in the energy sector. They should possess a solid understanding of AutoCAD Map3D & Civil3D and working in geospatial datasets.
Responsibilities will include:
Creating civil and linear drawing using a combination of survey data, COGO points, contours, design linework, and GIS datasets.
Producing various drawings specific to projects, including alignment sheets, site-specific layouts, crossings, profiles, and engineering typicals.
Working with GIS datasets such as shapefiles, public data, environmental data, contours, imagery, etc.
Labelling and dimensioning using AutoCAD standard annotation objects such as MText, MLeaders, dimensions, and attributed blocks.
Developing technical drawings (determining appropriate scales, arrangement, and specific details of the drawings) from the concepts required by the engineering team.
Sheet setup and working with external references.
Respecting and enforcing internal and client policies and procedures in the preparation of drawings.
Following discipline-specific and company drafting standards.
Review and QA/QC deliverables in PDF software.
Working collaboratively in cloud software.
Performing other related duties that may contribute to the project's completion.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Proficiency in CAD drafting and the latest AutoCAD Map3D and Civil3D software.
Understanding of drafting in real-world coordinate systems.
Demonstrated skills in AutoCAD and other job-related activities at the time of the interview such as labelling, plotting, block manipulation, page-setup, and working with external references.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as SharePoint, Excel, Word, and Teams.
Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Effective written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in teams and independently.

At Mott MacDonald, we provide a comprehensive benefit package that includes 401k, medical, dental and vision insurance, short-term/long-term disability, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave and company paid life insurance.
The expected salary for this position is $70,000 - $85,000.
Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
