Your Role

As a Water Civil Engineer, you will:

  • Collaborate on Nationally Significant Projects: Engage in major road, rail, and development projects across QLD, NSW, VIC, and WA.
  • Drive Climate Resilience Studies: Work with clients in the Water, Energy, and Defence sectors to enhance climate resilience.
  • Enhance Flood Management and City Resilience: Adopt a catchment-wide approach to understand flood risks within Australia and for our partners in Southeast Asia.

Candidate Specification

  • Degree in civil engineering, hydrology, geography, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • 3-6 years of experience in stormwater and flood engineering, including drainage design, flood mitigation, and water-sensitive urban design.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and deliver quality service.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors.
  • Documentation Skills: Ability to prepare high-quality reports and mapping.
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentoring to other professional staff.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with AR&R19, QUDM, TMR, and Australian Standards.
  • Proficiency with TUFLOW 2D hydraulic modelling, GIS (QGIS, MapInfo, ArcGIS), hydrological modelling packages (DRAINS, WBNM, RORB, URBS, RAFTS, HEC-RAS) is essential for this role.
  • Experience in programming (R, Python, MATLAB), ICM InfoWorks, MUSIC water quality modelling, 12D design, Civil3D software, would be advantageous.
