Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Environmental Advisor to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA).
The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8. Beyond this we have a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8.
What will you be doing as our new Environmental Advisor?
You will provide on-site support to the enabling and delivery teams during the pre-construction and construction stages of the pipeline project.
You will undertake inspections and audits to monitor compliance with relevant environmental legislation and SPA requirements
You will assist the Construction Environmental Managers (CEM) and Environmental Manager (EM) in the delivery of strategic priorities; and assist in the preparation and review of environmental information / documentation required for construction.
You will support the planning and delivery of environmental surveying and consenting for future SPA infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with current environmental legislation and SPA requirements
Undertake non infra and infra site inspections and internal audits
Provide guidance, support and feedback from audits and inspections to the construction teams to drive continuous improvement.
Work collaboratively across the SPA contracts to ensure requirements of the Construction Environment Management Plan are delivered at appropriate construction stages.
Develop and deliver training (such as case studies, toolbox talks, etc) to delivery and enabling teams
Carry out environmental incident/near miss investigation and reporting
Providing support to future project planning including assisting with document production as necessary.
Support the CEM in consulting with permit/consent applications when required.

Statutory Nuisance
Waste Management
Ecology
Incident investigation
Environmental permitting
A degree in an environmental related subject
Membership of a relevant professional body; with knowledge of key environmental legislation
Data analysis and interpretation experience
Experience in communicating with people at all levels, negotiation, and conflict resolution
Experience in writing reports and dashboard production
Full clean UK driving licence
