Mott MacDonald is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated project controls specialist. In this role, you will assist the project management teams in tasks such as developing, monitoring, and updating project budgets and schedules; forecasting project costs; providing support on negotiations, assist with monthly and quarterly reports either of financial nature, progress related or both.
The responsibilities are as follows:
· Cost Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and analyze cost variances. Provide cost estimates and forecasts to ensure financial objectives are met.
· Risk Management: Continuously assess project risks and propose solutions to minimize potential issues.
· Performance Monitoring: Track project progress against established schedules and budgets. Generate reports as needed to measure project cost and identify deviations.
· Change Management: Evaluate and manage change requests, ensuring they align with project objectives and do not disrupt project timelines or budgets.
· Document Control: Maintain project documentation, including contracts, amendments, billing rates. Ensure easy access to project information for team members.
· Communication: Collaborate with project stakeholders to facilitate effective communication. Provide regular updates on project status, cost, and vendors
· Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure project requirements meet an established standard.
· Software Proficiency: Utilize project management and control software such as Microsoft Project, or Excel to streamline processes and data analysis, and MS products
Requirements:
· 1-3 years of experience in a similar position (e.g. project controls, scheduler, cost estimating, etc.) within a multi-discipline project environment
· At least 1-3 years’ experience in the infrastructure sector;
· Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in finance, engineering, or construction management or similar (additional years of experience can subitude for degree)
· Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined team
· Excellent communicator (both oral and written) and skilled problem-solver with a commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is paramount
· Excellent time management skills while dealing with multiple competing deadlines
· Experienced in maintaining project cost control systems (experience of a variety of systems would be an advantage)
· Experience in supporting programs and projects with relevant experience in scheduling, deliverable and cost control for infrastructure and related projects (transit, highway, railroad)
· Knowledge of scheduling (including either Microsoft Project Office and/or Primavera P6), capital cost estimating, risk management, and other contracts and procurement project control related activities
· Understanding of, and experience in, budgeting, preparing cost control plans, cost reporting, progress and earned value reporting, including own organization and others
· A high attention to detail and an ability to deal efficiently with priorities and manage time appropriately
· Must be proficient with software such as: SharePoint, PowerBI, Excel, Word, MS Project, Bluebeam and other comparable such programs including the desire to utilize the full capabilities of Office365

The expected salary for this position is $70,000-$85,000
Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
