Your Opportunity 

Due to strong growth and a robust project pipeline, Mott MacDonald is seeking a Highways Market Leader APNA to lead this critical market across the region. You’ll join a high-performing team delivering major infrastructure projects across Australia and the broader APNA region.

This role defines and delivers a clear market strategy aligned to business goals, strengthening client relationships and positioning a full-service offering that drives growth.

A key focus is leading work winning end-to-end - building pipelines, driving bids and converting opportunities into sustainable outcomes. Alongside this, the role oversees delivery, stepping in as Project Director where needed to ensure strong client outcomes, performance and profitability.

Success in this position relies on driving efficient, high-quality service delivery by aligning technical capability with regional priorities. It also involves building and leading high-performing teams, creating a connected, collaborative environment with clear development pathways.

The position champions technical excellence and innovation, embedding best practice to solve complex challenges. By leveraging global networks, it strengthens capability across regions while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety and risk.

 

What you’ll bring is a balance of leadership, commercial acumen and technical credibility. The ideal candidate is self-aware, accountable and able to lead through change in fast-paced environments.

A strategic mindset paired with pragmatic execution is essential - identifying opportunities, managing risk and contributing to sustainable growth. Strong experience in project environments, sound judgement and a commitment to continuous improvement are key.

A genuine passion for developing people underpins success, alongside the ability to build high-performing teams and foster growth. Strong communication skills enable effective relationship building, influence and collaboration across teams.

Relevant qualifications (and chartership where applicable) are supported by proven experience in business development and stakeholder management, along with the ability to produce clear and concise written communication.
