We are seeking a talented, motivated, and experienced BIM Modeler to support projects across Canada. Our team of professionals provides cost-effective and innovative engineering solutions for the North American transportation and infrastructure industry with unprecedented success. 

The BIM modeler's responsibilities include: 

  • Authoring BIMs using a variety of software to support project teams by promoting and utilizing the best tools and systems framework for projects. 

  • Develop and manage accurate and detailed 3D BIM models and 2D CAD drawings using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD Civil 3D. 

  • Coordinate and integrate multi-disciplinary models to ensure consistency and clash-free design. 

  • Create, maintain, and enforce BIM standards, templates, and workflows across projects. 

  • Using different tools and systems that will require configuration and deployment based on each project’s requirements is important. 

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to resolve design and coordination issues. 

  • Support automation and parametric design workflows using tools like Dynamo and Grasshopper where applicable. 

  • Update and modify models as per revised plans and specifications 

  • Ensure that all models are compliant with the project BIM standards and protocols 

  • Maintain the project’s BIM library by creating and updating BIM families 

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of BIM standards and best practices within the organization 

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to gather all necessary information to create accurate models 

  • Participate in team meetings and provide progress updates 

 

Candidate Specifications: 

  • Minimum 4-8 years; experience as a modelling practitioner working with project engineers or managers. 

  • BSc degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field. 

  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand what tasks are required to deliver projects and assignments successfully, as well as solving technical challenges while developing new workflows. 

  • Genuine interest in developing and progressing digital delivery with a propensity for learning. 

  • Excellent communication skills to work closely with teams and to function as a team player. 

  • Background in Autodesk tools and systems such as Civil3D, Revit, Dynamo, Navisworks, Grasshopper, 3D Studio Max/Stingray and Infraworks. 

  • Knowledge and appreciation for best performance in model-based design (BIM) protocols, standards, and software. 

  • Experience with infrastructure projects in one or more of these fields: Rail, Transit, Bridges, Tunnels, Buildings or Civil works. 

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range is from $109,000 - $134,000
Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
