Mott MacDonald is looking for an experienced water/wastewater engineer to join our growing Colorado team. We are actively growing our water practice in the Rocky Mountain Region through diverse portfolio water, wastewater, stormwater, green infrastructure and recycled water projects.

The position offers excellent potential for professional growth and the opportunity to collaborate with national design leaders and project managers. Our water practice supports all markets including dams, geotechnical, energy, and transportation. The role will require supporting project managers in executing water projects; working with multi discipline design teams comprised of Mott MacDonald’s supporting technical disciplines and specialty sub-consultants. 

Responsibilities of the position will include, but not be limited to:

  • Overseeing technical design deliverables for work packages for infrastructure projects in water/wastewater
  • Assists the project manager in managing projects, serving as the deputy project manager and/or task/discipline lead for projects.
  • Prepares plans, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations for key deliverables.
  • Provides design support services during construction (submittal reviews, RFI’s, change orders, etc.).
  • Applies intensive/diversified knowledge of engineering/scientific principals/practices in broad areas of assignment and related fields.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines, subconsultants, and other staff throughout the project.

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset a must.
  • B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE)  in Colorado
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in water and wastewater related projects – planning, design, execution, and cost estimation for green infrastructure, pumping, and pipeline design projects.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills; able to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and clients (technical and non-technical) and nurture the development of junior staff.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project. Knowledge of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software is a plus but not needed. Experience with AutoCAD and/or GIS.
  • Ability and enthusiasm for supervising the work of others, including check and approval of key deliverables.
  • Skilled in technical writing.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

 

 

The expected salary for this position is $118,000- $144,000
