About the business unit  
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally. 

 


Overview of role
The ETO Project Support team are looking for a Project Planner to join our team.

 

General duties and responsibilities:

  • Independently execute all duties and responsibilities under the supervision of the Line Manager
  • Comply with company information security policy & organizational, technical, and administrative rules
  • Record keeping of documentation related to the executed activity as well as results achieved
  • Familiar with organizational, technical, and administrative procedures related to the project execution and management; involved in the selection of clients, nomination of subcontractors and partners
  • Inform Line manager on all occurring general and current issues as well as on the measures undertaken respectively
  • Propose solutions of main and current activity-related issues as coordinated with the Line Manager

 

Specific duties:

  • Knowledge and experience in scoping and creating a project schedules
  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, determine project critical path and project data analysis
  • A deep understanding of the concepts of Schedule Management
  • Detailed knowledge of and experience in using Primavera P6 /preferred/ or Enterprise Microsoft Project
  • Ability to assist in the development, maintenance, and monitoring Project Plans in line with agreed Schedule Management policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management
  • Knowledge of engineering design, project development stages, procurement contract and work processes
  • Experience and Knowledge in engineering design or similar would be beneficial
  • The role requires Scheduling-specific knowledge equivalent to a Technical or Business degree and certification as well

 


Candidate specification
The Project Planner should be familiar with and use independently or with the limited supervision and support by the Line Manager and other employees as follows:

  • The basic professional and ethics principles
  • To be familiar with the available activity– related software products
  • To be familiar with the theoretical grounds stated in the different operational manuals for Deltek – Connect Business software product as well as with their restrictions and permissible range of use; with the alternative methods and practice to support the project managers
  • Archived internal MM standards and respective standard documents, methods, and practices
  • Internal principles and rules for work with the MM documents, including classified information, Internal labour rules and other applicable MM documents

 


Candidate specification

  • Batchelor or higher degree in Engineering, Finance or similar relevant to the project planners role and responsibilities
  • Previous project planning/scheduling experience in Engineering Corporation would be an advantage
  • Good understanding of the importance of Work Break Down Structures, Resourcing, Deliverables and links between them
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office, Primavera P6 and similar scheduling software
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English – written and verbally
  • Ability to manage time effectively and the ability to prioritise in order to meet strict deadlines
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as autonomously
