Mott MacDonald is looking for an Resident Engineer to join our ever-expanding construction management team in the New York City area. We are currently looking for a professional with experience in the provision of construction management services for water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and pipeline construction projects. 

 

  • Supervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultants within the five boroughs. 

  • Support construction safety implementation through understanding of safety requirements. 

  • Assist with project controls activities such as schedule control, cost control, change management, risk management, and reporting tools. 

  • Maintain accurate daily records of the contractor's daily activities and the work performed, and of the labor, equipment and materials used 

  • Review of contractor progress payment requests.  

  • Enforcement of contract documents including plans and specifications. 

  •  Assist during inspection of start-up and commissioning activities.  

 

The successful candidate will require the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree 

  • 10+ years of experience performing construction management, of which minimum 3 years in water/wastewater projects 

  • Registration: NYS PE (Required), CCM (Preferred), ENVSP (Preferred) 

  • 30 HR OSHA safety training 

  • 5+ years on DEP projects 

  • Proficiency in the use of computers to prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

  • Experience working in/for municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations 

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

 

 

The expected salary for this position is $152,000 - $186,000.
