Your Opportunity 

Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, Mott MacDonald's Transport team has an exciting opening for a Senior Civil Engineer (Rail) in the Perth office. You will be joining a diverse and passionate team with a proven track record delivering major projects across Australia. 

As a Senior Civil Engineer in the transport infrastructure space, you’ll be contributing to transformative rail and transit developments that connect and enhance the communities we serve. With a strong emphasis on social impact and environmental sustainability, our team delivers across a range of sectors, where you’ll have the opportunity to: 

  • Perform rail track and alignment/civil designs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client specifications.
  • Prepare technical documentation including design reports, specifications, and work method statements.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Contribute to tender submissions and technical proposals for PTA, CBH, and mining rail projects.
  • Support project delivery through site inspections, construction support, and interface coordination.

 

About You 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with further rail industry accreditation/s.
  • 5-10 years of experience in rail engineering, with a focus on track and civil infrastructure in Western Australia.
  • Proven capability in concept design, preliminary design and detailed design for railway projects and associated infrastructure.
  • Railway Network Experience: Heavy haul (Rio Tinto, BHP or FMG), freight (ARC) and urban passenger rail (PTA) networks. Client-side experience will be considered advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of ARC Infrastructure, PTA, Rio Tinto, BHP standards and specifications.
