Job Description:

As a Senior Payroll Advisor at Mott MacDonald, you will play a key role ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll process and compliance with regulations. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Core Payroll Responsibilities

•            Manage end-to-end payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate payroll cycles.

•            Prepare and deliver management reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, year-end).

•            Handle month-end and year-end reconciliations.

Stakeholder Support

•            Offer payroll advice and support to staff queries with professionalism and excellent customer service.

•            Liaise with external agencies and assist auditors during audits by providing required documents and payroll reports.

•            Collaborate with central service and regional teams to meet Group expectations and deliver excellent outcomes.

•            Communicate payroll legislation updates and best practices to internal stakeholders.

Compliance and Documentation

•            Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, company policies, and Group directives.

•            Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and ensure proper implementation and communication to stakeholders.

•            Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation for audit purposes.

Reporting

•            Prepare payroll reports, including tax returns, statutory contributions, maternity and parental leave processing, and year-end filings.

Process Improvement and Quality Control

•            Continuously review and refine payroll processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.

•            Implement quality control measures to maintain data integrity in payroll systems

General Finance and Collaboration

•            Manage finance administration tasks and handle ad hoc requests or projects as assigned by the Regional Finance Manager.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Hold Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Studies or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll, with a proven track record in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Meticulous, well-organized, and conscientious with a high level of initiative at work.
  • Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, a strong sense of responsibility with a positive working attitude.
  • Resourceful and proactive, with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn and go-beyond.
  • Adept at building and maintaining effective communication and relationships with key stakeholders, including the Financial Shared Services, wider finance team, department heads, executives, non-finance teams, auditors, and banks, ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
