Role Profile
The Senior Talent Mobility Manager provides functional leadership for our team of mobility professionals based across regional and central territories including the UK, US, India, Singapore and Australia. The role has governance, compliance and policy oversight for the Mott MacDonald global business including international working of commuters, assignees (long term TEQ/host based) together with permanent international transfers and international new hires. The role works in partnership with the Travel and Finance teams to manage Short term assignees and provides specialist advice for business travel as required.
This role drives our talent mobility agenda, ensuring that strategies and policies are aligned with our group people strategy. It plays an integral role in building relationships with business and HR leaders to ensure a seamless service delivery across the globe.
Through our hybrid regional / centre of excellence operating model, this role has overall responsibility for the end-to-end policies and processes that move our people and their families internationally. This role requires team leadership and a deep understanding of global mobility policies and processes, governance, compliance and technology, combined with demonstrated stakeholder relationship management and the need to be hands on for operational delivery as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the Talent Mobility service, policies, processes and supporting technology at a global level, focusing on providing a seamless service to employees transferring internationally on assignment, permanent international transfers, international new hires and international commuters.
- Accountable for process and quality service delivery.
- Governance and compliance oversight for expat tax, immigration and relocation in group policy.
- Develop and manage relationships with the People Team and senior leaders, to deliver and meet business needs within our Mott MacDonald mobility framework.
- Escalation point globally for regional global mobility business partners and senior stakeholders regarding policy advice and interpretation, governance and compliance.
- Development and overall responsibility for maintaining a suite of mobility policies that meet the needs of the business whilst ensuring compliance.
- Team leadership with a strong focus on compliance, customer service and operational excellence underpinned by a “One HR” ethos. Directly responsible for the leadership of the centre of excellence talent mobility team and indirectly for the regional mobility specialists.
- A deep focus on-going continuous improvement of mobility services and contribute to all relevant projects (across service functions) which require mobility input.
- Mitigate risks by ensuring accurate management of mobility associated compliance processes.
- Financial responsibility for the mobility budget including expense and invoice approval.
- Accountability for the global vendors retained to support the Global Mobility program – ensuring value for money combined with excellent employee experience.
Having recently undertaken an RFP, this role will be responsible for the change management of vendor services where required.
Candidate profile
- Expertise in stakeholder management, particularly a matrix leadership structure.
- Building relationships, and working with executive leaders across international borders.
- Good understanding of technology and systems that support talent mobility
- Deep understanding and knowledge of international employment tax, immigration, social security and relocation for internationally mobile employees from long term assignees to commuters.
- Understanding and knowledge of international tax and social security challenges relating to equity participation and bonus delivery, resulting from an employee moving internationally is ideal, but not essential.
- Deep experience of global mobility policies and their application to business operations and employees, as well as developing policies to meet changing business needs.
- Demonstrated prior success in leading and developing global mobility teams with a strong focus on customer service, operational excellence and standardisation of approach where appropriate.
- Good practical knowledge and experience in the delivery of expatriate services to an assignee population including client service, policy, payroll, process and technology.
- Experience of leading tender exercises for global vendors and transitioning to new vendors as required along with managing performance and adherence to contract commitments.
- Proven excellence in creating and delivering mobility policies, projects and programmes.
- Able to thrive in a fluid, fast changing and unstructured environment.
