Your Opportunity 

 

Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, our Buildings team has an exciting opening for a Technical Director Fire Engineer in the Sydney office. You will be joining a diverse and passionate team with a proven track record delivering major projects across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).   

 

As a Technical Director Fire Engineer in the buildings space, you will be working on significant urban development, public realm and precinct type projects that shape the communities in which we live. With a focus on social and environmental outcomes, our team works across a range of sectors including arts and culture, commercial, civic, education, transport, defence, and sports.  You will have the opportunity to

 

  • Manage fire engineering projects, providing detailed technical input across a broad range of projects within the fire engineering business and related areas.
  • Conduct fire safety engineering design and analysis in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Responsible for the internal management and delivery of allocated projects
  • Working collaboratively with our technically excellent and collaborative ANZ fire engineering team.
  • Manage client relationships, securing and overseeing projects.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal processes, including design and calculation tools.
  • Mentoring of junior staff.

 

About You 

 

  • Relevant tertiary engineering qualification in fire safety engineering
  • Transport experience and Chartered Engineer status preferable
  • Registered Certifier - Fire Safety in NSW or able to attain certification. 
  • Proven ability in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of high-profile projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in fire safety design, risk assessment, and compliance with Australian Standards, and Building Codes and legislation.
  • Competent in monitoring and managing the scope (including variations) of multiple projects of varying complexity and size and guiding the work of others.
  • Demonstrated multiple instances of delivering best client outcomes/options which have saved the client costs/time and addressed their requirements.
  • Extensive experience in client relationships. Ability to communicate complex technical issues to clients and guide the client through regulatory processes
