Mott MacDonald Canada is proud to be shaping some of the nation’s most impactful infrastructure initiatives. With a growing portfolio of work across the public and private sectors, we are seeking a Transportation Engineer to bring technical insight, and design excellence to our team. 

 

This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse array of transportation infrastructure assignments from highway and municipal road projects to multi-modal corridors and site development schemes. The successful candidate will contribute to the geometric design of roadways, develop comprehensive road drainage systems, and lead site servicing strategies that integrate utilities and access. Grading design and earthworks planning will also be central to this role, with a focus on constructability and environmental performance. 

 

At Mott MacDonald, we take pride in designing solutions that elevate mobility and enhance communities. As a Transportation Engineer, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with stakeholders, and take projects from concept through detailed design and construction. 

 

 

 
As a Transportation Engineer, your role responsibilities are expected to include: 
 

  • Engage as part of large multidisciplinary teams and review design documents for consistency and coordination 

  • Develop roadway designs according to technical standards and regulatory requirements 

  • Deliver packages of work with the assistance of other technical and production staff 

  • Provide oversight and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff undertaking technical design work 

  • Assist in managing highway engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget 

  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, methods and practices, specifically in roadway geometry, active transportation, grading, pavement design, staging, drainage and roadside safety. 
     

 

You will have experience in transportation infrastructure and possess the following skills and experience: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; a master’s degree is an asset 

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Canada, or able to obtain it within 1 year. 

  • Strong technical writing skills, with experience preparing reports and contract documents.  

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering and infrastructure design. 

  • Experience with utility relocation and coordination is an asset 

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 

  • Confident and positive attitude 

  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with our business partners, suppliers, contractors, and clients 

  • Experience with software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation Inroads

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range is from $96,000 - $ 117,000
Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
