Mott MacDonald has made the list of The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality, the UK’s most highly profiled and well-established listing of employers taking action to create workplaces where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive.
The list recognises and celebrates organisations that champion greater gender equality at work and can demonstrate progress towards creating more fair and equitable workplaces.
Now, more than ever, an inclusive approach is essential to advancing true equality and fairness in the workplace.
Jen Ross, regional human resources manager, UK & Europe at Mott MacDonald said: “To us, equality, diversity and inclusion are more than just words. They're fundamental and fully ingrained qualities that we cannot operate without. When our teams are diverse, we can better understand and meet the needs of our clients and communities across the world. The more inclusive and equitable our workplaces, the more our learning, innovation and excellence can flourish. It's all about realising our purpose, leading by example in our sector, and becoming known for being an open, welcoming inclusive workplace.”
Mott MacDonald’s recognition in The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality reflects years of sustained action to create a fairer and more inclusive workplace. The removal of systemic barriers and redesigned recruitment practices that are more inclusive, have led to measurable progress.
In 2024 alone, 42.17% of promotions were awarded to women, a figure that exceeds their overall representation in the Mott MacDonald UK workforce of 34.5%, demonstrating the success of its leadership development initiatives, including the Women Future Leaders Programme and inclusive behaviours training.
Company efforts have also led to a 19% reduction in its gender pay gap since 2019. By embedding inclusion into performance management, career development and leadership accountability, Mott MacDonald continues to close gender disparities and enable women to thrive across all levels of the organisation.
