Raj Chinthamani

Raj Chinthamani is Mott MacDonald’s principal project manager for marine structures in North America. Based in New York City, he leads the delivery of ports and marine projects in the Northeast region of the United States, focusing on innovation, constructability, and sustainability. 

Raj is a professional engineer with over 24 years of experience – having worked on waterfront rehabilitation, piers, wharves, deep water oil unloading berths, and waterway locks for both private and public sector projects. He has served as owner’s design engineer on design-bid-build projects as well as designer of record for contractors on design-build projects. Some of his notable projects include, Hudson River Park's Little Island Pier, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ)’s Car Float and Transfer Bridge, the National Park Service’s Tidal Basin and West Potomac Park Seawall Replacement, and New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC)’s East Midtown Greenway.

Raj is actively involved in the Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute (CORPI) and the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI), and is a former chair for the COPRI-ASCE Met Section Chapter.
