I’m the North America lead for all of Mott MacDonald’s early careers recruitment initiatives, which includes our new grad and intern hiring and campus engagement. At the moment, I’m finalizing our 2026 new graduate and intern cohorts as well as designing and developing our early careers learning and development offerings.
There is no typical day when it comes to early careers recruiting. I could be attending a career fair in Texas on Monday, scheduling interviews in Seattle on Tuesday, and extending offers in NYC on Wednesday. The North America talent acquisition team empowers me to excel every day by being the most supportive and collaborative group I’ve ever been a part of.
In addition to the learning and development programming that was available to me, from my first day at Mott MacDonald I was given opportunities to grow and develop through my day-to-day responsibilities. I was fortunate enough to have supported early career professionals as a leader on several internal committees and completed coursework that furthered my skillsets in people management and talent development.
I think the most important thing a person can do is know when to take a break. Even if it’s just to take a lap around the office, it’s a necessity to step away and refresh to avoid burnout.
It reflects a belief that every person has the potential to make meaningful, high-impact contributions. It’s a cultural promise that builds confidence and support.
Teamwork makes the dream work. It may seem cheesy, but we truly are one Mott MacDonald. Every person I have interacted with over five and a half years here has been willing to collaborate and lend experience when called on.
People are trusted with the ownership of their work and are encouraged to pitch ideas to help shape meaningful outcomes and creative solutions. Support comes through accessible leaders, team-oriented colleagues, and a culture of excellence.
The most important thing you can do is “be a sponge.” You'll be surrounded by talented professionals, not only on your team, but throughout the office and broader business. Take every opportunity to network and engage with others, and don't be afraid to put your hand up or ask questions. Every person here wants you to succeed and will do whatever is in their power to help you along the way. You just need to be able to ask and accept it. A major benefit of working for such a large, global company is the thousands of colleagues that are only a Teams message away!
Mott MacDonald is growing, and I’m so excited for the things coming down the pipeline, especially in North America!
