Job Description
You will be joining our Human Factors team based in the railways division and will optimise human well-being and overall system performance of predominately railways in order to improve comfort, health, safety and productivity. We also work on projects in a range of other sectors such as nuclear and aviation and the public realm. In this role, you will incorporate the three main fields of ergonomics: physical, cognitive, and organisational.
You will be working on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects providing services including:
Control room design
Workload assessment
Human error analysis
Human reliability analysis
HMI design
Wayfinding
Accessibility
Behavioural insights
Human factors integration
As part of your application, we will ask you to select your preferred opportunity based on the location. Some of our opportunities will require you to be eligible to achieve security clearance, this is shown in the selection choices. Security clearance is dictated by the types of projects we work on and normally requires you to be a UK British national or have lived in the UK for five years or more.

Candidate Specification

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months’ relevant experience (excluding placements) and have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (obtained no earlier than 2024) or expected to achieve one, in one of the following degree disciplines:
Psychology
Human factors or any related discipline
