Role description  

 

The post holder will be part of the BLD Senior Leadership Team. They will need to be a strong communicator and collaborator, and work closely with the Unit Operations Manager, Divisional Resource Managers, Portfolio and Delivery Leaders, Unit Commercial and BMS Managers, and Unit Technical Excellence leads in EUNA.  
Accountability  

Ensure we drive digital value into prospects and projects across the Unit, including our key strategic innovation and investment areas, showing digital efficiencies, differentiation and cost reduction in winning work and delivering projects. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Own and deliver the BLD Digital Unit Strategy and Plan, focusing on key prospects, projects and innovations
  • Work with Central Digital Function to ensure digital efficiency and ‘Discovery’ stage innovation ideas are passed to them for development.  
  • Work with the Central Digital Function and Digital Delivery Practice to manage and prioritise BLD digital requests and ensure that these are widely communicated and applied in BLD.  
  • Set out Unit investment priorities for technical excellence and actions for 2025 and beyond, that support BLD Business and Risk Treatment plans.  
  • Provide technical leadership and sponsorship on behalf of the BLD SLT on strategic technical excellence issues and matters  
  • Maintain a dialogue and challenge Divisional Resource Managers to ensure they support Resource Leads 
    and Line Managers to secure, maintain and support delivery of Practice plans and actions.  
  • Chair and lead the 2025 work programme for BLD safeguarding technical quality working group.  
  • Work with the Local Office Champion (LOC) ECP and apprentice community and support them in developing and delivering technical excellence activities.
