About the business unit  
The Buildings Unit (BLD) has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector skills across five key Sectors; Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water. We also provide local services to customers and technical leadership to the rest of the Group in these sectors.  

 


Overview of the role
We are seeking an Environmental Consultant to work within the Environmental and Social team in Turkiye. The role requires working on wide range of projects which will involve interfacing with clients, contractors and other consultants providing project management expertise.

 

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Apply knowledge and understanding of environmental legislation and both Turkish and International standards/regulations 
  • Establish and maintain environmental stakeholder relationships
  • Review environmental, health and safety documentation and permits on behalf of clients and evaluate potential issues
  • Thorough knowledge of EU environmental legislation including EIA, engineering know how on environmental infrastructure, design and cost estimation
  • Experience working with EC/EU environmental tools and guidelines; experience in IFC Performance Standards, EBRD Performance Requirements and Equator Principles is also essential
  • Undertaking site visits; reviewing, monitoring environmental, health and safety and social documentation
  • Working in compliance with essential regulatory and contractual health and safety obligations
  • Full range of consultancy skills including negotiating, presenting, coaching and facilitating

 

 

Candidate specification
The candidate is intended to have the capacity to work for international environmental projects and related advisory services having a basic understanding of legal and commercial aspects related to technical aspects.

 

Essential: 

  • A Licence degree in environmental engineering or equivalent
  • 3-8 years of experience specifically in environment sector
  • Expertise in preparing Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Expertise in local environmental, health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Experience of working with both Public and private sector clients
  • Experience of working on international ESIA and environmental and social due diligence projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Turkish is mandatory
  • Preferably experience within a consultancy environment
  • A good inter-personal skills with the ability to integrate into existing teams, and work alongside colleagues of other disciplines
  • Progressive and imaginative approach in their work and strive to add value where possible for the benefit of the company and our clients
  • Good adoption skills to new and challenging environments
