We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team, based in Skipton. 

 

The role of Lead Accountant would be an ideal opportunity for someone who is an experienced accountant who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by identifying and driving continuous improvement.

 

As a Financial Accountant, you will: 

  • Prepare and submit monthly consolidated balance sheet, cashflow, and reconciliations.
  • Manage quarterly group consolidations and liaise with Group Finance.
  • Oversee annual statutory accounts and coordinate with auditors.
  • Deliver balance sheet commentaries and ensure compliance with UK GAAP.
  • Maintain and monitor the internal controls framework, supporting audits and documenting processes.
  • Work across Reporting, Tax, Transactional teams, and the wider parent company.
  • Contribute to regular reporting and ad hoc projects, with potential line management required.


What you’ll need:
 

  • A professional finance qualification (ACCA, ACA) plus 2+ years post‑qualification experience.
  • Proven background in a similar accounting or reporting role; construction sector experience is a bonus.
  • Strong skills with ERP systems, databases, and large data sets.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with excellent interpersonal skills and a “can‑do” attitude.
  • Flexibility to balance structured reporting with project work and process improvement.
