Overview of the role
The Internal Communications Executive for the European region’s internal communications (IC) content workstream contributes to the region’s content strategy.
This involves being a key IC content consultant who crafts and creates content that increases employee engagement with regional messaging and storytelling, aligning fully with how we engage colleagues internally and clients externally.
Working within the IC team for Europe, you will report into the Senior Internal Communications Manager for the content workstream, engage across functions and produce content for our Buildings and Transport business units.
This is an early career professional role, suitable for those who are degree qualified or who have relevant work experience. The postholder is expected to demonstrate and role model Our Code and PRIDE values, take ownership of tasks through some self-management and purposefully work with and contribute to the regional marketing and creative teams and wider IC function within the region and at global level.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Consultancy
- Contribute to implementing the IC content strategy
- Engage with regional IC function to ensure content strategy, delivery and timing is understood and delivered across the region
- As necessary, advise on how teams from our Buildings and Transport units can create engaging content to generate maximum measurable impact
- Identify internal communication opportunities and propose creative ideas and content to engage different audiences
- Content delivery
- Organise and run quarterly Buildings and Transport units’ editorial board sessions to create healthy and realistic content pipelines for each unit
- Plan and write effective and engaging content for key Buildings, Transport and EUNA regional IC activities to generate maximum measurable impact across different content mediums (e.g. written, verbal, video)
- Prepare content that is aligned with our content strategy, messaging and tone of voice
- Write, edit and proofread news stories and educate stakeholders how to improve their requests for future stories
- Help Senior IC Manager in coordinating regional intranet news, prioritise and assign content tasks
- Network and research to find out what people need and expect from our content strategy
- Review content metrics to demonstrate content success and where to improve
- Engage with the global IC team to align regional content with global messaging and storytelling
- Engage with regional marketing content team to coordinate content that is applicable externally and internally

Candidate specification
Essential:
- Experience of working in a content role
- Strong command of written English language
- Communicates effectively and works as a team with key stakeholders, peers and other professionals
- Highly organised and works efficiently to expected deadlines with multiple stakeholders across a variety of projects/tasks, including ‘business as usual’ content creation
- Customer and end user focused
- Able to learn and apply new technologies, particularly in relation to the use of AI
- Demonstrates and role models Our Code and PRIDE values
Desirable:
- University degree, college diploma or similar experience in English, communications or marketing
- Produces content that translates complex or technical information into simple, compelling content across multiple channels and audiences
- Excellent speaking, writing and presentation skills, storytelling, and people-centred communications
- Self-starting and resourceful with the confidence and ability to undertake tasks and see them through to completion with minimal guidance
- Develop content for video
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office 365
