Overview of the role
We are looking for a passionate and collaborative Associate Land Consultant to join our established Land Advisory business to lead land referencing, land assembly and offer strategic advice for major infrastructure development projects. Our Land Advisory team is based across the UK and deliver a diverse range of advisory services primarily in the transportation, water and energy markets. We are looking for candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit who understand our clients’ commitments whilst helping shape the direction of our business.

As an Associate Land Consultant, you will work closely with the senior leadership team and play a leadership role in the delivery of complex infrastructure and development projects, leading land referencing and land assembly teams and advising strategic client needs and establishing trusting relationships. You will manage direct reports, providing mentoring and direction to support their professional development and performance whilst nurturing a single team, communal approach. Working across multiple projects, you will draw on your track record to lead the delivery of high-quality technical work by drawing on a flexible pool of resources and adopting an agile, responsive approach to meet client expectations. You will oversee project budgets, contribute to commercial planning, and ensure delivery aligns with programme, quality and cost objectives. You will also lead and contribute to the growth of our service by:

  • Coordinating and writing technical proposals for competitive bids
  • Representing our technical services externally through professional networks and with clients and partners, promoting the value of land referencing and advisory services
  • Identifying and developing opportunities for growth

Essential:

  • Evidenced track record leading and delivering land referencing, land assembly and offering strategic consultancy advice on infrastructure or development projects
  • Demonstrable leadership and line management experience, with a focus on mentoring and team development
  • Strong project management skills, including budget oversight and resource coordination
  • Experience in client-facing roles and external stakeholder engagement
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory processes such as Development Consent Orders (DCOs), hybrid Bills or Transport and Works Act Orders (TWAOs)

Desirable:

  • Track record of sensitively engaging with landowners or local communities in relation to major infrastructure consents and construction
  • Experience writing technical bid responses
  • Relevant chartership status
  • Membership of a relevant professional or industry body, connecting with external professional communities
