We are seeking a seasoned Principal Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects in Toronto. This role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who can manage complex project lifecycles, drive performance, and ensure alignment with client expectations and business objectives. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met. 

  • Develop and implement project execution strategies, risk management plans, and performance metrics. 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle. 

  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across engineering, design, construction, and commercial functions. 

  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards. 

  • Provide leadership in resolving project challenges, facilitating decision-making, and maintaining momentum. 

  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and promote a culture of accountability and excellence. 

  • Mentor and support junior project managers and contribute to talent development within the team. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. 

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario or eligible for licensure. 

  • PMP certification is an asset. 

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in project management, with a focus on infrastructure or transportation projects. 

  • Proven track record of delivering large, complex projects on time and within budget. 

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. 

  • Experience with project delivery under design-build or alternative delivery models. 

  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies. 

Preferred Experience 

  • Experience managing projects in transit, transportation, or urban infrastructure sectors. 

  • Familiarity with Canadian public sector procurement and delivery frameworks. 

  • Ability to lead large teams across multiple disciplines and geographies. 

  • Knowledge of Progressive Design Build  or similar contract models.

Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.

 

 

The expected salary range for this position is from $162,000 - $199,000
