We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Principal Project Manager with a focus in major transportation infrastructure project development. The ideal candidate will have a background leading teams in an Owner’s Engineering capacity and be experienced in development of contract documents for a wide range of construction contracting models including Construction Management, General Contracting and Design-Build. Experience working in a transportation and transit context will be advantageous.
Responsibilities of this role include but may not be limited to:
Lead and oversee the delivery of Owner Engineering and Project Management services relating to major infrastructure projects for municipal or other public sector clients.
Lead team(s) responsible for the design of transportation and transit operational infrastructure solutions including railways, bus or rail facilities, BRT, or roadways.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, technicians, planners, and contractors, to develop innovative and functional designs that optimize operations, efficiency, and safety.
Lead development of Owner project and contract documentation for a wide range of project delivery models. Focus on alternative project delivery models including Design-build and Construction Management is essential including experience developing performance-based project specifications.
Efficiently manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful and timely completion of deliverables.
Foster strong client relationships, actively engage with stakeholders, and address their concerns and feedback throughout the design process.
Successful candidates will possess the below skills, credentials and qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience including project leadership experience in an Owner advocacy role for major public infrastructure.
Knowledge of transportation or transit systems and their associated operations and maintenance requirements is preferred.
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, including successful completion of complex projects within budget, schedule and using digital tools and technology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
Professional certifications and affiliations in relevant fields are advantageous.
Established industry and client relationships, with a reputation for collaborative project delivery.
