Mott MacDonald is looking to hire a motivated, independent, and organized team player for a Project Controls Specialist position. This position will help support any of our many sectors throughout the Northeast. Our sectors include Aviation, Buildings, Energy, Highways, Bridges, Rail, Tunnels, Water, and Environment. This position could be in any office in the New York City, Iselin, Westwood or Boston location.

 

The Project Controls Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Assist in development of project WBS structures, budgets, resource forecasts, risk registers, and standardized internal forms
  • Monitor and report on project planned spend, actual spend, and estimate to complete.
  • Compile data, analyze, and report on project costs, profits, and budget trends.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks on project expenses and invoices.
  • Facilitate and support completion of internal quality and reporting requirements.
  • Initiate and manage purchase orders.
  • Perform quality checks and facilitate processing of subconsultant invoices. Track and monitor subconsultant progress against budgets.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports for distribution.
  • Interact with project managers, invoicers, and accounting team to address project needs and resolve issues.
  • Communicate with Project Controls teammates and collaborate as needed.

 

The Project Controls Specialist may also have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide bid stage proposal support, to include assisting in development of fee proposals.
  • Manage contract amendment process. Assist in creating submittal documents, collect and/or develop necessary inputs.
  • Support Project Managers in the contract auditing and negotiation processes.
  • Create and manage scope change documents and track progress.
  • Attend meetings and prepare meeting notes/minutes as well as produce materials for meetings.
  • Provide timesheet and expense report processing assistance.
  • Perform project document control and review of submittals for compliance.
  • Other duties as necessary.

 

The ideal Project Controls Specialist will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong command of Excel
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems
  • Experience with engineering projects preferred
  • Working knowledge of project design process and configuration management preferred
  • Capable of tracking budgets and deliverables against overall project requirements
  • Must be able to manage deadlines across multiple projects
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand project schedules preferred
  • Experience with SharePoint preferred

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

 

 

The expected salary for this position is $113,000 - $138,000.
