Senior Highways Engineer

About the role:
Mott MacDonald is looking for a Senior Highways Engineer to support multiple built environment and transport projects across the GCC.

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

• Supervise the production of detailed highway/road designs for various developments and highway projects in the GCC

• Manage draftsmen to produce drawings and highways schemes to standards

• Managing resources to deliver the agreed outcomes for the project and coordinating with other discipline leads

• Help prepare designs, reports, specifications and other deliverables for highways schemes

• Monitor the designs produced to ensure they meet the design briefs and requirements

• Ensure designs are appropriate and meet the expected levels of technical excellence

• Help to chase the local authorities for the issuance of NOCs; resolve any issues identified by the authorities

• Having approval from relevant authorities such as RTA, DMT, ITC, etc is advantageous .

• Seek innovation in the delivery of schemes and techniques used to design and construct them

• Ensure that the quality system is applied to all highways schemes

• Manage technical and financial proposals while having the ability to read and analyze RFPs. This also includes knowing how to price for Highway Designs as per RFP requirements.

Candidate specifications:

• BSc in Civil Engineering; Masters in an Engineering discipline will be an added advantage

• Experience in highway/road design

• Hands-on experience of the following software:

• Autodesk Civil 3D

• Microsoft Office tools

• Autodesk Infraworks and,

• Bentley Projectwise

• Knowledgeable in UAE/ KSA local design manuals/guidelines

• Strong time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects in parallel

• Previous consultancy experience
