Your Opportunity

Mott MacDonald’s Project, Programme & Commercial Management team successfully integrates our expertise to deliver effective outcomes in all markets across the full infrastructure lifecycle. Due to strong growth and a pipeline of major projects, our team have an exciting opening for a Senior Project Controller to be based in our Brisbane or Maroochydore office. You will be joining a diverse and passionate team with a proven track record delivering major projects across Australia.   

 

What You’ll Do

  • Grow and develop your expertise towards taking on substantial roles as part of a supportive network of project controllers and project leaders.
  • Execute project controls services to support the project team and our clients.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports on key project metrics for the team.
  • Gather and interpret performance data from different sources to create meaningful reports on schedule, resources, and costs.
  • Work closely with technical professionals (Project Managers, technical leads, area managers) to update forecasts within a structured process.
  • Gain an understanding of contractual terms and cost control with guidance from experienced project leaders.
  • Help manage project deliverables in line with governance and timelines.
  • Support commercial managers and project leaders in developing and administering sub-contracts, including integrating forecasting and cost control activities.
  • Assist the project team in managing variations and changes, ensuring impacts on scope, cost, and schedule are assessed.

 

About You

  • A degree or certification in a related field (e.g., Project Management) is desirable.
  • Good experience monitoring and controlling project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and resources.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with PowerBI is a bonus.
  • Experience in scheduling/planning highly desirable but not essential – Primavera P6, Microsoft Project
  • Enjoy working with different stakeholders and learning from experienced professionals.
  • Curious, proactive, and detail-oriented with a willingness to develop commercial awareness.
  • Able to manage your time and work independently with guidance.
