Joel Farrier has joined Mott MacDonald as southwest division general manager in the United States. He will lead operations in six states – Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas – with a key focus on Los Angeles.
In this role, Joel will be responsible for overseeing implementation of the business strategy for southwestern US and Los Angeles, in addition to developing and expanding our client relationships and overseeing technical quality. He will lead a team of over over 300 colleagues.
Joel brings over 35 years of general civil engineering, sustainability, and leadership experience working within many market sectors, including transportation and water. His expertise includes business strategy, civil infrastructure design, and construction and executive management.
Joel previously served as business development manager for western states and regional manager, environment, in California at Burns & McDonnell. Prior to this, he worked for AECOM as general manager in Los Angeles in addition to roles across the western US. Joel has international experience, having worked in in Australia and France, bringing civil engineering and geotechnical solutions to several complex, large scale infrastructure projects.

I am looking forward to leading and growing the team in the southwest United States to make a real impact on communities across this region.”
Julia Barker, North America’s west unit general manager, said, “Joel has deep experience of the infrastructure and energy markets in the southwest, and an exceptional track record of building trusted partnerships to deliver complex projects. With his skillset, and through his leadership of this team, we are well placed to achieve our ambitions for growth in this region.”
Wynton Habersham has joined Mott MacDonald as market leader for rail systems in the United States. In his role, he will lead the delivery of rail systems and train control professional services to clients in North America.
Based in New York City, Phil is responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive revenue growth, market expansion and client acquisition across North America.
Based in Arlington, Virginia, Freddie will drive development, foster client relations, and deliver Mott MacDonald’s growth strategy across the US and Canada.
Peter Erceg, P.Eng. has joined Mott MacDonald as Canada division general manager, based in Toronto. In this role, Peter is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Canada business strategy and developing and expanding client relationships across the region.
