Mott MacDonald appointed to SA Water’s Engineering Services Panel

Mott MacDonald, the global engineering, management and development consultancy, has been selected by SA Water as one of 12 companies to deliver engineering services under its newly established Engineering Services Panel.

The panel will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure over the next four years, as SA Water undertakes a record AUS$3.3 billion capital program, underpinned by a strong commitment to proactive environmental leadership, sustainable performance and value for money.

Mott MacDonald will deliver advisory, design and construction support services across four sub-panels:

  • Major Engineering Panel: providing multidisciplinary services to support the delivery of major, complex and high-risk water, recycled water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Minor Engineering Panel: delivering engineering support for low-complexity, low-risk water infrastructure projects.
  • Specialist Engineering Panel – Dams: offering expertise in dam design, safety assessments and risk management.
  • Specialist Engineering Panel – Environmental: services including environmental impact assessments, native vegetation assessments, site contamination assessments and water-sensitive urban design, integrating nature-based and traditional engineering approaches to support long-term strategic asset management.

The engineering panel appointment is for a four-year term, running until 2029, with an option to extend for an additional four years through to 2033.

Designed to align market capability and capacity with SA Water's infrastructure needs, the Engineering Services Panel provides access to qualified and experienced resources while supporting SA Water’s strategic priorities, including climate resilience, sustainable engineering and environmental stewardship.

With over a century of experience in water management, Mott MacDonald has contributed to some of the world’s most transformative water infrastructure projects globally. The consultancy is proud to support SA Water in delivering trusted water services for a sustainable and healthy South Australia.

Frances Badelow, managing director for Australia, says: “This appointment reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions and supporting South Australia’s critical infrastructure needs. We look forward to partnering with SA Water to proactively address water scarcity, drive sustainable resource management and advance infrastructure resilience in the face of climate change and population growth.”
