Mott MacDonald secures key role in transforming Greater Manchester’s transport future

Mott MacDonald has been appointed to three lots on the newly launched Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) Transport Professional Services Framework 2025. The move reinforces its long-standing commitment to shaping sustainable, inclusive and future-ready transport infrastructure across the North.

The four-year framework will support the delivery of the Bee Network—the UK’s first fully integrated, zero-emission public transport system. Mott MacDonald will provide expert consultancy across three critical service areas, contributing to the region’s ambitious plans to connect every community with low-fare, high-frequency and environmentally responsible transport options.

Under the framework, Mott MacDonald will provide services in: Lot 2: transport analysis, strategic modelling and economics; Lot 9: design and engineering services – fixed track; and Lot 11: design and engineering services – buildings.

These roles will see Mott MacDonald working closely with TfGM and local stakeholders to deliver new stations, enhanced interchanges, active travel infrastructure and smarter, more resilient transport systems.

This move comes as the UK Government’s Spending Review 2025 commits to the biggest-ever investment in city region transport, with targeted funding for the North and Midlands to close productivity gaps and unlock economic potential.
