Mott MacDonald has been appointed to help deliver modelling support for water and wastewater infrastructure for United Utilities. The comprehensive framework will bring a collaborative approach to support United Utilities in making informed decisions across operational and capital investment programmes.
United Utilities is responsible for water and wastewater services in the North West of England, supplying 1.8 billion litres of water every day and managing more than 56,000 hectares of land. Mott MacDonald will deliver modelling support for wastewater infrastructure supporting model maintenance, storm overflow investigations, capital projects and integrated urban drainage modelling.
Tim Hill, Mott MacDonald UK water and environment general manager, said: "We’re very pleased that our leading team of modellers has been appointed to this important framework. Our specialists are recognised nationally for their expertise and will provide much needed support to United Utilities enabling them to improve the maintenance and upgrade of their network.”
Jane Simpson, capital delivery director at United Utilities, said: “Our new network modelling partners will help us make informed decisions across operations and capital investment programmes by monitoring rivers, catchment land, and coastal infrastructure to see where we can improve our services and meet supply needs of the future”.
The five year contract has options to extend for up to a further six years.
