Mott MacDonald strengthens capability in India with expanded office in Ahmedabad

Mott MacDonald has expanded its presence in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, by taking occupancy of an additional floor in its current office building. This move further strengthens its capabilities in India across key markets including water, energy and industry, as well as its global support teams in finance, IT and HR.

The global engineering, management and development consultancy has a growing workforce of over 1,700 professionals across India, including established offices in Bengaluru, Delhi/Noida, Mumbai and Chennai, providing large-scale engineering and digital transformation services.

Ahmedabad is one of India’s most vibrant centres for infrastructure, engineering and innovation and a major talent hub. The larger office space, located in the rapidly developing commercial hub of Makarba, will enable Mott MacDonald to increase its staff presence in Ahmedabad. With a strengthened local team, the company can better support a broader range of disciplines, deliver high-quality services to clients and enhance integration across its global delivery network.

It plans to accelerate recruitment of specialists in design, digital delivery and project management. The expanded team will work with the company’s global network of technical experts, supporting innovation and operational excellence.

The office opening was attended by David Boyland, group head of the Global Delivery Services Centre at Mott MacDonald, who said: “Ahmedabad has rapidly emerged as a hub for skilled technical professionals and engineering excellence. The office expansion will help us attract and employ the best talent across the region. We look forward to welcoming new colleagues into our Ahmedabad office as we expand our global delivery network.”

Ruturaj Govilkar, managing director for South Asia at Mott MacDonald, said: “Our Ahmedabad team has played a significant role in the growth of our South Asia business. This office expansion underscores our commitment to regional development, fostering innovation and creating opportunities for India’s engineering and consulting talent. It is an opportunity to further develop our capabilities and enhance our services to key clients in the region.”
