Biography

John Palmer joined Mott MacDonald in 2003 and is now a technical director within the nuclear sector. He has over 45 years’ experience in the design, operation and strategic development of nuclear facilities and is recognised as a trusted leader in nuclear material processing, radioactive waste management and safety case development.

John has led the design of complex, high-hazard facilities and has played a pivotal role in shaping national standards for waste packaging and transport, including the UK’s nationally acclaimed waste advisory service.

Through his work, John, who is a Chartered Chemist and Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, continues to influence the future of the nuclear sector through strategic leadership, peer review and technical authority roles on major programmes.
