Biography
Mitch Mitchell is a chartered engineer and management consultant, and a former Major General in the British Army, who is recognised for his strategic leadership across defence, infrastructure and organisational change. Describing himself as an “integrator-in-chief”, he has a proven record of leading and influencing the delivery of change and innovation at a strategic level, as well as having strong stakeholder relationship skills.
Mitch was the first transformation director of a major infrastructure programme at Devonport dockyard and directed our successful rebid for the UK government’s New Hospitals Programme, going on to play a senior role establishing a systems-thinking approach to the programme’s organisational design. He was also responsible for developing Mott MacDonald’s global leadership development pipeline.
Mitch previously led the UK Ministry of Defence’s independent strategic think tank, influencing long-term defence planning and investment, and international security thinking. He brings this specialist knowledge and expertise to his current role as a client director for a major defence engineering organisation.
