Nick Ling.

Biography

Nick is a Chartered structural engineer with more than 30 years’ experience shaping and delivering challenging, design-led projects across the built environment. As technical director for our South, Midlands and Wales structures team, he leads multidisciplinary collaborations across sectors including sport, transport, education and commercial development.

Recognised for his creative engineering grounded in practicality, Nick brings deep expertise in lightweight, long-span roof structures and crowd-loaded environments. His approach balances architectural ambition with technical rigour, helping clients realise bold visions with confidence.

Nick’s portfolio includes the Olympic Basketball Arena in London, the Anfield Stadium expansion and the Mauritius National Sports Complex for the Indian Ocean Island Games. He has also led major transport infrastructure designs, including Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 5 and upgrades to London’s rail and underground stations.

As tutor at the Bartlett School of Architecture and former lecturer at Sheffield University’s School of Architecture, Nick continues to support architectural education.
