We have an opportunity for a talented and highly motivated Building Information Modelling (BIM) Drafter to join our New York/Iselin – Metropark NJ office, working closely with multidisciplinary teams in North America.
As a BIM Drafter, you will produce models and drawings under the direction of task leads on a multitude of projects. This role requires expertise in developing and coordinating 3D models using Autodesk and/or Bentley software applications for major infrastructure and building projects, particularly in the water/wastewater sector of the industry.
Core responsibilities will be :
Develop drawings, layouts, and sketches with industry standard software (Autodesk Civil3D, Autodesk Revit)
Conduct drawing review and markup with an organized, methodical mindset
Prepare submittal package drawings and track production of required drawings under the direction of the team and task leads
Assist in preliminary layout of complex assignments to define appropriate drawings and information
Draft & model within accepted company and/or national standards; assist in the evolution of standards where appropriate
Prepare design modifications from provided sketches and data when prototypes or standard libraries are not available
Review and check others' models and drafting work for consistency and adherence to procedures, standards, and references
Modeling building services elements
The preferred candidate will have:
Associate or Technical Degree in CAD, Survey, Construction, from an accredited institution or acceptable equivalent
Preferred 5-10 years’ experience
Experience using Bentley tools (e.g. Microstation, OpenBuildings, OpenTunnels, OpenFlow, or similar authoring tools) for mechanical and plumbing systems
Drafting/BIM experience in a design or construction team
Experience with or willingness to learn new software as the demand arises
Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards is a plus.
Excellent communication skills essential for team-based work
Adaptability to grow beyond the initial role and manage teams
