About the Role:
Mott MacDonald is currently looking for a Civil Inspector who will be responsible for inspecting the installation of utilities and infrastructure works within a Large residential/housing project ensuring their compliancy with the codes and standards within the contract.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
- Provide professional support to the project team, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a co-ordinated response to clients
- Involve delegated trust and authority, together with the use of initiative, at a level commensurate with the status of the post
- Check site conditions for suitability prior to construction
- Develop and maintain the Quality Management System, Quality Management Plan in line with legislation, certification, contract requirements and parent company governance
- Observe, check and record work execution is in accordance with approved methods
- Manage QA implementation and assure full compliance with extensive QA/QC processes
- Check setting-out and levels
- Check services locations and ensure their protection
- Record inspections, tests, work executed etc.
- Observe site safety procedures and actively monitor and report on contractor’s safety performance, raising non-conformance reports when required.
- Actively monitor implementation of contractor’s quality procedures and raise non-conformance reports when required.
- Assist in the preparation of ‘As Built’ drawings
- To undertake specific projects as required
Candidate Specification:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or any relevant engineering; additional certificates or qualifications in Health and Safety would be preferred
- Experience in Large residential/housing construction projects and infrastructure/utilities
- Proven experience in managing all HSE matters on large construction sites
- Experience within a consultancy environment is preferred
- Continuously looking for innovations and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across individuals, teams and projects
