About the business division
The Water Consultancy Division is Mott MacDonald’s centre of excellence for responding to water and wastewater challenges, offering fantastic opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work. The work we do is at the forefront of ensuring safe water supplies for future generations and protecting our environment. Our multi-disciplinary teams provide a variety of services throughout the full project life cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies, through outline and detailed design, to construction support and site supervision.
Overview of the role
We have opportunities for electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (EICA) engineers to join our Madrid office within our multidisciplinary Water Utilities Division. We work on a vast range of design projects covering, for example:
We cover all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover. We provide specialist technical support to colleagues across our global business, offering fantastic opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work. Our clients include the majority of UK water utility companies, and many other governmental organisations and private companies in the UK and overseas.
You will undertake a wide range of EICA tasks, typically including:
You will work in close partnership with clients and contractors, building strong relationships that will enhance the company’s reputation and help secure further work.
Candidate specification
Essential:
Qualified to degree level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
Two years or more of experience in electrical and/or control engineering design/consultancy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety, and environmental issues
Desirable:
Master’s degree in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
Working towards Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body
Experience of working in the water and/or wastewater industry
Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes
