Overview of role

Under the direction and supervision of senior colleagues perform environmental advisory work on public or private sector transport and industrial development projects.

  • Prepare environmental impact studies and other advisory reports
  • Attend and record stakeholder meetings and site visits
  • Analyse data as well as environment and climate related studies
  • Advise on environmental compliance on specific professional areas such as air, water, waste, noise, climate, nature, landscape
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of EU and Hungarian environmental legislation, standards and best practices
  • Evaluate complex problems and identify solutions with expert assistance from within/outside the office
  • Ensure high quality delivery to clients
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders and other offices of the Mott MacDonald Group
  • Provide support in business development, contribute to proposals
  • Exercise professional judgment in accordance with industry best practices in environmental consultancy and relevant legislation
  • Continuously develop skills and experience

 

Candidate specification

  • Educated to degree level in Environmental Engineering / Environmental Science or to a related degree combined with relevant technical experience
  • Experience in environmental matters, ideally gained in consultancy, in corporate environmental management at manufacturing companies or at environmental authorities
  • Capable of operating as a team member as scope and range of project interaction alters accordingly
  • Expertise in EU and Hungarian environmental legislation
  • Familiarity with industry best practices is highly valued
  • Chartership by the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers would be an asset
  • Experience in database, spreadsheet, word processing, graphics, and engineering software applications
  • Ability to communicate, read, write and understand English and Hungarian clearly
  • Advanced report writing skills in English and Hungarian
  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks as the project requires
