Your Opportunity 

Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, our Transport team has an exciting opening for a Material Engineer in the Melbourne office. You will be joining a diverse and passionate team with a proven track record delivering major projects across Victoria.  

As a Material Engineer in the transport space, you will be working on significant urban development, public realm and precinct type projects that shape the communities in which we live. With a focus on social and environmental outcomes, our team works across a range of sectors including arts and culture, commercial, civic, education, transport, defence, and sports.  You will have the opportunity to

• Develop and review durability plans for concrete, steel, and composite structures.
• Conduct material performance assessments and provide recommendations for long-term asset resilience.
• Perform inspections and evaluations of existing structures to determine material condition and service life.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for remediation strategies.
• Research and implement innovative and sustainable material solutions, including low-carbon concrete, recycled aggregates, and advanced coatings.
• Provide technical input during design, construction, and maintenance phases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineers.
• Contribute to the preparation of the materials discipline for upcoming defence projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and security requirements.

About You 

• Relevant qualification in Materials Engineering or related discipline
• Previous experience in materials engineering for Transport and Building projects
• Knowledge of durability design, material performance, and sustainability principles
• Skilled in project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
