Overview of role

 

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Accountant to join our team in Sofia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role is integral to maintaining the financial integrity of our organization and ensuring that all employees are compensated correctly and on time.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  • Prepare labour contracts and assist in the preparation of job descriptions.
  • Register signed labour contracts with new hires in the National Revenue Agency.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of employee payroll information in accordance with Group-approved policies and procedures.
  • Set up accounts for newly hired employees in the Group systems.
  • Process and manage payroll for employees.
  • Collect and upload sick leave and annual leave records.
  • Process leavers by preparing all necessary documentation and submitting it to the tax authorities
  • Ensure compliance with state and local payroll regulations.
  • Calculate and process payroll taxes and other deductions.
  • Prepare and distribute payslips.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
  • Collaborate with Group HR team to ensure accurate employee data and payroll information
  • Prepare and file payroll reports and tax filings
  • Prepare all data requested by the Group
  • Stay up-to-date on payroll regulations and industry trends
  • Assist with other accounting tasks as needed
  • Assist with the Group payroll activities for other countries

 

Candidate Specification

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Experience in payroll accounting
  • Good knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Experience with multi-state payroll
