About the unit:

Through APD, Mott MacDonald provides advisory and project, programme and commercial management (PPCM) services to help aviation, highways and rail sector clients deliver transport infrastructure projects both cost-effectively and sustainability. 

Our reach in transportation extends across mainland Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India, Australasia and beyond.  

 

About the role:

We are currently looking for a Public Sector Account Lead to join a successful and growing Transportation Portfolio in our Advisory and Programme Delivery Unit.
The Public Sector Account Leader for the North will work closely with other Regional Account Leads that report to the Public Sector Principal Account Leader. This role is critical for winning and delivering quality services across the sector, achieving targets by prepositioning and winning work, building and maintaining Mott MacDonald’s relationships with our clients, planning the accounts, and building a client centric experience for repeat and sustainable business. The role will also entail leading and managing the already successful and established team based in the North.
  
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following;

 

Growth

  • Working with our Account Leaders to develop business strategies and successfully deliver against targets agreed from the business plan.
  • Developing the Account Client Engagement Plans in line with the Portfolio and Unit Business plan and Sector Strategy.
  • Ownership of Client relationships
  • Ownership of team and performance
  • Collaborating across Mott MacDonald to enhance and develop strong and robust relationships with both existing and new Clients.
  • Operating as a trusted advisor to help solve our Clients challenges.
  • Maximising the opportunities on our existing Client Frameworks.
  • Identifying new opportunities, pre-positioning, and converting them into firm prospects. (Tracked and managed).
  • Drive the bidding process, converting prospects into projects ensuring bids are technically and commercially sound.
  • Leading in the recruitment and growth of the team across the North


People

  • You as regional account lead will be a Highly motivated, individual that is able to design, build, integrate, and manage a multi-discipline PPCM (Project, Programme & Commercial Management) and Advisory team from resources within, and external, to Mott MacDonald.
  • You will have several line managers reporting to you, but you will maintain responsibility for the development, wellbeing and utilisation of staff working in the public sector account.

 

Experience

  • Experience in the Public sector with a focus on local government and local authorities.
  • Experience in maintaining and managing client relationships to win work. Ideally the candidate would have existing relationships within relevant clients.
  • Experience in Project, Programme, and Commercial Management (PPCM) or related Advisory Services 
  • Experience in delivering against targets
  • Experience in leading a team and managing people at all career stages
  • Professionally qualified with a relevant body 
  • Leads by example instilling our Mott MacDonald code.
  • Experience in NEC/JCT contract administration
  • Have the ability and experience in setting up and implementing robust Project Management processes


Qualifications

  • Professional Qualification – ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Bachelors Degree
  • Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE, APM or  other equivalent institution
  • APM affiliation (as secondary accreditation)
