About the business unit 
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and​ advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.

We are looking for a Senior Document Controller to join our enthusiastic, diverse and growing Information Management team. You will be part of our Information Management network responsible for implementing the latest digital design delivery methods and improved ways of working across our major projects. Our team works with a range of major project clients, predominantly in the transportation sector in the UK and North America. Our focus lies in the development of innovative digital project solutions to drive efficiency during the delivery of our built environment projects.

This opportunity is for someone looking at taking Document Control practices one step further by ensure best practice implementation in projects across the Metros and Civils Division within the wider context of information management and digital implementation for enhanced project delivery. 

 

Candidate specification

You’ll enjoy taking on technical challenges and using your quality and process orientated nature to develop effective solutions. You’ll be motivated by the satisfaction that comes from working as a team to improve project delivery and from seeing your work turned into reality to benefit society. You’ll be interested in researching and applying new and developing technologies for efficient document control processes implementation. You’ll enjoy engaging with others including specialist from a wide range of engineering disciplines to gather their requirements and assist the wider information management strategy in becoming fully embraced by the project team. You’ll have experience leading and achieving through others, providing training as well as have awareness of change management best practices for successful stakeholder engagement in the implementation of new solutions. 

 

We’d also like you to have:

  • Experience in configuring and administering electronic document management systems, including ProjectWise, SharePoint, Asite, eB, Aconex. Awareness of other EDMS used in projects is advantageous.
  • Considerable experience in Document Control, as well as experience within a Senior Document Controller.
  • Experience in major infrastructure projects, overseeing other Document Controllers, and implementing document control processes. Ability to develop new processes from scratch to address complex project needs.
  • Interest in Information Management and the adoption of new technologies for efficient document control.
  • Ability to advise on Document Control implementation aligned with ISO-19650 standards.
  • Familiarity with quality standards (ISO-19100).
  • Ability to lead teams while actively participating in day-to-day Document Control tasks.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload without supervision
  • Working knowledge of MS Packages - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good analytical, organisational and communication skills
