Job Description :
• Proficiency with complete relay and controls detailed design for utility substations 115kV and above (IED selection, Schematics, three-lines, one-lines, wiring diagrams, panel fronts, control building layouts, etc.)
• Ability to develop protection philosophies from Scratch (i.e. IEEE standards, utility standards, and other industry standards) and create Protection one lines
• Proficiency in calculating AC Load Studies and station service sizing.
• Can carry out DC Load study and battery sizing calculations.
• Can calculate cable voltage drops and cable tray loading calculations.
• Familiar with CT Saturation calculations and tap selections.
• Preparation of SCADA architecture drawing which covers all IED’s, protection switch, GPS, Real Time Automation Controller
• Experience with development of control building specifications desired but not required
• Working knowledge of SKM, ETAP and/or ASPEN desired, but not required
• Relay protection calculations and settings experience desired, but not required
• Arc-Flash calculations and experience desired, but not required
Candidate Specification :
• Degree in Electrical engineering from accredited university
• 8-12 years with majority of experience in detailed design experience;
• Good written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work in independently with lead office as part of integrated team
• Ability to take direction and multi-task required.
• Self-motivated individual with keen interest to learn new skills and add value to the team/organisation
• Strong with AutoCAD Electrical or other automated/integrated relay wiring design tools desired.
• Expected to work with Utility Substations, Transmission Lines, Solar and Wind Generation Facilities, Energy Storage, etc
