The role 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Internal Communications Advisor to join our regional marketing team on a 12-month fixed term. This role is pivotal in developing and executing internal communication strategies that align with our organisational goals.  

You will work closely with various departments, including our corporate service functions and senior leadership, to ensure consistent and effective communication across our region and Group. Your expertise will help shape our internal narrative, foster employee engagement, and support our culture.  

 

What you’ll do: 

In this role you will be responsible for our internal communication channels, developing and delivering internal communications and educating and training on best practice in partnership with our wider Brand and Marketing colleagues.  You will lead the ideation and creation of internal engagement and communication plans and campaigns, with the support of the Brand and Marketing Managers and our people team. 

You will be experienced in writing, reviewing and editing internal focused content including project case studies, corporate communications, presentations and training. 

You will also be responsible for: 

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand, identify and advise on communication and engagement opportunities and requirements. 

  • Ensuring that the corporate brand, tone of voice and technical excellence standards are properly represented in all content.  

  • Updating and maintaining our internal marketing tracker to ensure activities are logged, approvals obtained, and outputs are delivered on time. 

  • Monitoring feedback, reviewing metrics and implementing new approaches to extend the reach and impact of our internal communication activities. 

  • Proactively engaging with the broader business to create and coordinate content that promotes events, news and initiatives to all staff. 

  • Collaborating with our visual design colleagues to create videos, presentations, and simple graphics that help to tell a story. 

  • Connecting and collaborating with our Group Marketing colleagues and internal engagement teams across the globe. 

  • Supporting the development and execution of crisis communication plans to manage internal messaging during critical situations. 

 

About you 

We are looking for an experienced communicator and natural storyteller with demonstratable experience supporting the development and delivery of high-impact employee engagement communications. You will have proven ability to identify key messages and translate information into easy-to-understand internal communications and high-quality documentation.  

As a highly organised collaborator, this is your opportunity to work with multiple internal clients and colleagues on a variety of tasks simultaneously in a fast-moving and high-performing team. You will be able to form trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and can welcome different perspectives, with empathy for the positions of others. 

It’d be a bonus to us if you have an understanding of consultancy, engineering, and/or the built environment and some familiarity withcritical industry issues.  Being familiar with Optimizely products, including Optimizely CMS, Optimizely CMP, and Optimizely Campaign, would be the cherry on top!
