About the Role:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will undertake assignments on a multidisciplinary project within construction teams but will focus on all mechanical components of the Highrise building project

 

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Oversee all construction activities pertaining to mechanical systems including district cooling, ventilation and air conditioning, fire and life safety systems (smoke control/staircase pressurisation), heat recovery and BACS
  • Shop drawing endorsement, material submittal review, method statement reviews, as-built drawing review, testing and commissioning review
  • Design capability required to review impact of any field change requests (assessment of whether these are minor or major) and coordinating with internal design to complete any redesign deemed necessary
  • Coordinate with all disciplines and external stakeholders to ensure the layout of MEP services are feasible
  • Prepare or supervise the preparation of drawings for plant general arrangements and P&IDs and managing the production of documentation such as feasibility reports, calculations, specifications, plant schedules, tenders, schedule of prices, engineer’s estimates and factory and site acceptance documents
  • Represent the company in technical meetings with our clients, supervise the work of more junior staff and provide technical and professional guidance to assist their development
  • Ensure the development of required documentation for the review process in order to include comments, recommendations and corrective action plans for the prime contractor as appropriate

 

Role Requirements and Competencies 

  • Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally accredited university
  • Experience in a similar role with prior experience of working on residential developments, namely large housing schemes
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of mechanical engineering services including HVAC, public health, fire and life safety
