Job Description
The individual will be a part of the Centre of Excellence based in Mumbai and assist with the tax accounting and reporting for the ISMA region in support of the Group’s external reporting requirements. They will also support the review of tax with external auditors and ensure corporation tax compliance with support of regional finance teams.
Duties and responsibilities of the Senior Tax Analyst
• Lead the preparation and review of periodic tax filings (e.g., VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax) in collaboration with local finance teams, ensuring compliance with local regulations and internal controls.
• Support the delivery of quarterly and annual tax reporting for the region, ensuring alignment with Group Tax timelines and standards.
• Assist local finance teams in preparation of annual tax disclosures for standalone financial statements, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain and enhance tax documentation and audit trails to support internal and external audits.
• Monitor and interpret changes in regional tax legislation, assess their impact, and support the implementation of necessary changes in compliance processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Legal, Shared Services) to gather relevant data and resolve tax-related queries.
• Support the ongoing monitoring of key risk areas in collaboration with local finance teams, ensuring readiness for BEPS Pillar 2.0 reporting requirements, including delivering training with guidance from the Regional Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager.
• Help maintain and enhance the corporate tax process and control environment.
• Manage the tax accounting implications of current and future accounting or operational changes within the region.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing the efficiency and accuracy of tax compliance and reporting activities.
• Provide ad-hoc support to the Regional Tax Manager on local projects and initiatives.
Requirements
• Accounting and/ or tax qualified. Qualified CA preferred.
• Fluent in English
• Strong background in tax accounting and reporting and in leading compliance processes (4-6 years)
• Having experience in corporate & indirect taxation
• Experience in Onesource is an advantage
• Experience with implementing tax accounting or tax compliance technology solutions an advantage
• Strong project management, organizational and communication skills
• Process improvement mindset
