Your Opportunity

 

Mott MacDonald's Water team has an exciting opportunity for a Water Design Manager in the Brisbane Office. We have recently been appointed onto the fully integrated ambitious Next Generation for Delivery program with Urban Utilities. Spanning up to 10 years, NG4D will see the planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, network, and treatment infrastructure across Urban Utilities’ South East Queensland operational area, This initiative will help address some of the most pressing challenges facing the region, including climate change, population growth, and ageing infrastructure. This role will interface with local delivery teams providing digital engineering on project and technical support to other staff, as well as liaise with the Global Delivery Service team for offshore delivery of digital engineering on projects.

 

  • Lead and oversee the technical design and delivery of water and wastewater projects from concept through to detailed design
  • Provide technical governance, review and sign‑off of design outputs in line with Australian Standards and client requirements
  • Manage, mentor and develop design engineers and technical specialists
  • Partner with project managers and clients to manage scope, programme, risk and quality
  • Support business development, bids and client relationship management across the QLD water market
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in design processes, safety and innovation

 

About You

 

  • Degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience leading water infrastructure design projects in Australia
  • Strong understanding of SEQ Water, local councils and utility standards (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated capability in technical leadership, design assurance and team management
  • CPEng / RPEQ (or ability to obtain) preferred
