Mott MacDonald is strengthening its commitment to diversity and inclusion by becoming a Gold Supporter of Pride Pledge.
The Pride Pledge is a values-based commitment that organisations and individuals can take to demonstrate their dedication to the safety, visibility, and inclusion of the rainbow members of their community and workforce.
Mott MacDonald’s commitment as a global engineering, management, and development consultancy involves implementing several initiatives to improve rainbow inclusion and to create a supportive working environment for all. This includes providing Rainbow Awareness Training and other learning opportunities to all employees across Aotearoa New Zealand and connecting with the ‘Gaybourhood’, a coalition of rainbow networks from organisations across Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland.
With support from leadership, this initiative has been championed by Advance Aotearoa, a chapter of the global Mott MacDonald employee-led network group, whose purpose is to build a sense of community and empower everyone to become advocates for equality, diversity and inclusion.
Mike O’Halloran, managing director for Mott MacDonald New Zealand, said: “Taking the Pride Pledge demonstrates our ongoing efforts to cultivate a workplace where every individual can thrive, contributing to our culture of learning, excellence, and innovation. We truly believe in the power of equality, diversity, and inclusion as essential to our purpose, and as a Gold Supporter, this partnership displays our commitment to making sure that our brilliant people have a voice and feel welcome and valued.”
Through Pride Pledge, Mott MacDonald will have access to specialist resources, training, and the opportunity to network and learn from other organisations across New Zealand who are also committed to ongoing improvement in rainbow inclusion.
